The iCDCU Lab was established in November 2016 by Dr. Danny T.Y. Wu at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The lab focuses on applying informatics methods, especailly design research methods, applied machine learning, text mining, and visual analytics, to address clinical and health problems. The research areas and key publications can be viewed here. The lab was moved to UNC Chapel Hill in Janurary 2025 when Dr. Wu joined the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS) and the Carolina Health Informatics Program (CHIP).

Eligibility criteria:
Have taken a course with Dr. Wu (including Independent Study), or have met Dr. Wu at a conference, meeting, or event.
Willing to volunteer for at least one semester as a trial period.
Genuinely interested in at least one of the lab’s research areas.
Demonstrate high motivation, commitment, and a collaborative mindset.
